Clarification of Geophysical Survey Results on Camp Carroll

캠프 캐롤 지구물리탐사 결과에 대한 해명

      Numerous media outlets have reported that the geophysical survey results of Helipad Area 1 released Friday identified metal objects or barrels buried under the ground.

      다수의 보도매체가 지난주 금요일 발표된 헬리패드 1구역에 대한 지구물리탐사 결과 금속성 물체 또는 드럼통이 지하에 묻혀있는 것을 확인했다고 보도했다.

      The survey only indicated anomalous areas under the ground.  While these anomalies could be metallic, they could also be areas of different soil density, soil composition or water.

      지구물리탐사는 단지 지하에 이상징후가 있는 지역을 보여준 것일 뿐이다. 이러한 이상징후는 금속성 물체일 수도 있지만 상이한 토양 밀도, 토양 구성, 또는 지하수가 포함된 지역일 수도 있다.

      All tests to date indicate no evidence of Agent Orange on Camp Carroll or in the adjacent communities. 

      현재까지의 모든 조사결과, 캠프 캐롤 또는 인근 지역에서 고엽제와 관련된 어떤 증거도 확인하지 못하였다.  

      The ongoing core sampling will help the joint investigation team determine whether Agent Orange was buried on the post.  It will also provide critical information to scientists conducting a health assessment on the installation. 

      현재 진행중인 시추조사를 통해 공동조사단이 기지에 고엽제가 매몰되었는지 여부를 판단할 것이다. 또한, 이를 통해 과학자들이 기지의 건강 위해성을 평가하는데 결정적인 정보를 제공할 것이다.
